Why Spiritual Autobiography Matters: Exploring Words of Power
Imagine if you will, a grand party with every sensual delight, the festival hall filled with music, song and dance, tables overflowing with fruits and bread and meat, candle flames glowing in lanterns, goblets of wine and beer, laughter, the cats lolling under chairs, and the sweet scent of lotus blossoms in the air. Imagine yourself in the midst of your life celebrating your community, your beloved, the recent harvest from your gardens and fields. In the midst of this party chaos enters. In the midst of the party death comes uninvited, and everything changes.
This is the story of Isis and Osiris. This is a tale of lamentation and loss. Osiris, a mighty chief on earth, is hacked to pieces and scattered. He must die in order to be born into his inheritance as Lord of Amduat (what is in the other world). He can not know in advance when his journey into the neterworld will begin, but everything he has done upon this earth has coalesced around this moment. He, who contemplates the meaning of his life while he is yet alive, who dies to the old self while he still lives, is reborn.

This will be the fourth tour that we have led together to Egypt. Like our last one in October 2012, it will be intimate, limited to 16 participants, and will focus on the Egyptian Mysteries and writing your spiritual memoirs. Normandi Ellis is an award-winning author, poet, priestess and scholar. For the last 20 years Egyptophiles and travelers to Egypt have regarded her translation of the Book of the Dead, Awakening Osiris, as the essential text for any pilgrimage through the ancient Egyptian temples. Nicki Scully is the author of six books, including Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt, Power Animal Meditations and her newest, Planetary Healing: Spirit Medicine for Global Transformation. She has been leading spiritual tours to Egypt for 25 years.
This tour will include writing sessions similar to the ones that resulted in Normandi's book, Invoking the Scribes of Ancient Egypt: The Initiatory Path of Spiritual Journaling, a collection of inspiring pieces by participants on an Egypt tour in 2009. Normandi will offer writing exercises in the temples and on our exquisite, private dahabeya as we sail the Nile and participate in initiations and ceremonies at temples and sacred sites. Among the highlights will be a sunrise visit to Isis' temple at Philae, and private ceremonial visits to the Sphinx and the King's Chamber inside the Great Pyramid. Join us in learning to create meaning from our life experiences and manifest new destinies for ourselves through spiritual re-membering and writing.

PRICE AND PAYMENT: The price for this tour package is $6988. The Land Only cost of the trip for those not flying with us from New York is $6288.
There are no single supplements available on this tour.
This price includes: international airfare from New York; deluxe hotels in Egypt; an 9-night luxury Nile cruise on a private dahabeya (traditional sailing yacht); all meals on the boat; domestic travel between Cairo/Aswan and Luxor/Cairo; breakfast daily; welcome and farewell meals, and at least two extra lunches; extensive sightseeing as mentioned in the itinerary including entrance fees and English speaking guides; all transfers and luggage handling, and miscellaneous gratuities. It also includes sacred initiations, ceremonies & meditations at sacred sites, and a private visit in the Great Pyramid.
The full payment for the trip is due by 90 days prior to the scheduled departure.
You may pay the tour price in three installments at any time if you wish, but no later than the following schedule: After the non-refundable $1,500 deposit has been made to secure your position on the tour, a payment of $1,800 is due no later than June 1st, 2014; another $1,800 is due by July 1st; and the final balance of $1,888 is due by August 1st. The deposit is fully refunded if we cancel the trip for any reason. Otherwise, it is non-refundable except on an exceptional, case-by case basis. For our cancellation policy, please see our website.
