Shamanic Journeys & Alchemical Healing Monthly Newsletter

The free Planetary Healing Call to Action this Saturday will be dedicated to Respect: Healing the Rift That Disrespect Creates on Our Planet.

In this ceremony we will travel to Egypt, to Sekhmet's chapel at the Temple of Karnak in Luxor where an eight-foot basalt statue has stood for nearly 3,500 years. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sekhmet, she is the lioness goddess of the Egypt, the feminine face of the sun. As a principle of nature, or the neteru, as the deities of Egypt are called, she represents power, and is the quintessential healer of the Egyptian pantheon. She is also the guardian of Ma'at, Goddess of truth, justice, and cosmic order.

Anyone who has traveled there and spent any personal time with Sekhmet can attest to the power that radiates from her, perhaps because of the original investment that was placed in the ka of the statue by the initiated carver or consecrating priest(ess), and also from the devotion that continues to this day by those who recognize her wherever they find her— in statues all over the world, in books, in hymns and songs, and in our hearts. Who is there better to advise us as to how to deal with the issue of disrespect in our world, an issue that seeps into cultures and traditions in a cycle that has been perpetuated throughout history as we know it?Jen Crum and Katlyn Breene

I'm sure many of you have heard of The Temple of Goddess Spirituality, dedicated to Sekhmet, outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. The history of the Temple is quite a story in its own right, and is available here…. Last week their statue of Sekhmet was stolen.

After pondering this desecration of the temple in Nevada for several days, it occurs to me that the disrespect that motivates such an act is a fundamental source of the division that is tearing our planet apart.

This is certainly not a new problem. Every time I go to Egypt I am confronted with the purposeful desecration of temples and monuments, including the chiseling off of the exquisitely carved faces of the deities that represented the previous power structure. One cannot escape feelings of loss and sadness, of anger and outrage, and above all wonder at the lack of respect, the hatred, and the fear that are at the base of such acts. At the same time, we cannot forget that these principles of nature live within each and every one of us, whether we are aware of it or not. And so we are ultimately faced with the realization that, regardless of the devotion, the love, and the dedication we have invested in the icon, as beautiful as it is, and how powerfully she radiates her magic through it and to us, the power still and always lives within us. The statue itself is simply an outward symbol or manifestation of a principal that we revere. Is there magic associated with it? I would say a resounding “Yes!”, and bless and be grateful for the mystery that allows so many of us to experience that magic directly.

On this Earth Day, (and every other day) imagine a world where people respected each other's beliefs, and their right to hold and celebrate them in ways that do no harm to others.

Free Introduction to Alchemical Healing

Tuesday, April 29, 5:30-7:30pm

In a similar vein, I'm offering a free tele-web-Skype seminar to demonstrate and teach some of the basics of Alchemical Healing, the comprehensive healing form I created and published in my trilogy: Power Animal Meditations, Alchemical Healing: A Guide to Spiritual, Physical, And Transformational Medicine, and Planetary Healing: Spirit Medicine for Global Transformation.

During this call I will offer basic initiations so that participants can take an active role in the healing demonstrations that I do, based on the needs of the people that show up. When you register for this class, please mention if you have any physical problems, especially those that are acute, painful, and/or limiting in motion, as those kinds of problems allow for some of the most effective demonstrations.

In order to keep this newsletter brief (it was actually meant as a reminder for the Phone Bridge calls), please click on the bullet points at the top for more detailed information and registration for the above mentioned upcoming events.

The Honeymoon Effect, by Bruce Lipton, Ph.D.

Before I sign off, though, I would like to announce the launch of a new book by our friend Bruce Lipton PhD. The Honeymoon Effect: The Science of Creating Heaven on Earth, is actually quite relevant to the topic we have chosen for our Call to Action. He covers quite thoroughly, and with lucid scientific explanation, the course of the evolution of our own actions in our relationships. If we were attentive and present to that which he describes, our level of respect for one another would substantially improve in all our activities as well as relationships.

I hope to see many of you in phone space this weekend and next Tuesday, or at another event in person soon.

Meanwhile, enjoy the blossoming of this beautiful spring, and continue seeing our world free of hatred and filled with love and respect for All our Relations

Blessings and Love,
Nicki Scully
